Susan B. Emert, 73, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021.

She was born on September 27, 1947 in Galveston, TX to Marcie and Bill Brigham. Susan lived in Galveston until her father died when she was seven. Marcie and the two children moved to Yazoo City, MS and lived with Susan's grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Webb Brame. She completed high school in Yazoo City, MS, graduated from Mississippi College, and then moved to Pensacola, FL. Susan met Don Emert at First Baptist Church when Don was in the US Navy. They married on February 16, 1974, at Susan's home church in Yazoo City. She taught second grade at Ferry Pass Elementary for several years. When her first child Jeremy was born, she became a homemaker and was dedicated to her family. Don and Susan moved with his job from Pensacola to New Jersey to Pennsylvania, to Louisiana and returned to Pensacola where they retired.

Susan is survived by her husband, Donald Ray Emert; son, Jeremy Ray (Courtney) and their children, Olivia, Jude, and Lincoln; son, Jonathan William Emert and his child, Sawyer.

Susan was so proud of her two sons, Jeremy and his family serve as missionaries with Poetice International in Zambia, Africa and Jonathan is a long-haul truck driver with Walmart in Cheyenne, WY.

Visitation will be held 10:30am until the memorial service to begin at 11:30am Friday, February 19, 2021 at First Baptist Church, Pleitz Chapel, with Dr. Dave Snyder officiating. Private family interment will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery.

The family would like to thank all the staff of Life Care Center of Pensacola for the dedicated and compassionate care they gave Susan.
