Susan G. Kypreos, 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.

Susan was born and raised in Carrollton, GA, and was the daughter of a lawyer and math/science teacher. She showed a talent for music early on that turned into a passion that guided her throughout her life. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in music performance from Wesleyan College in Macon, GA, in 1975, and later received her master's degree in music from Florida State University. She was a mezzo soprano opera singer who performed internationally and locally at the Pensacola Opera. She went on to share her love of music with children as a business woman with KidzWiz Productions, and as a music teacher at local schools (Myrtle Groove Elementary School, Episcopal Day School, The Montessori School of Pensacola, etc.). She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Susan was a vivacious, multi-talented woman who loved travel, food, her family, and her cocker spaniels (Buster, Charlie, Andy, and Obie).

Susan is preceded in death by her father and mother, Reuben and Mary Florence Word; her brother, David; and her nephew, Patrick.

She is survived by her husband, Spiro of Pensacola; her son, Theodore (Mary) of Pensacola; her brother, Jerry (Deborah) of Carrollton; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

Visitation will be held 3:00pm until the Memorial Service at 4:00pm Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd., Pensacola, FL, with Fr. Roberts Graves officiating.

A special thank you to the teachers and students she worked with and taught throughout the years. Thank you to all of the doctors, nurses, and medical staff at Sacred Heart and Select Specialty Hospital who worked so hard to care for her and save her. Godspeed.
