Sybil Marie Anderson Anthony, age 75, went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2011. Mrs. Anthony was born in Nashville, TN on May 21, 1935 to Ira Cornelius and Creola Marie Anderson, and had been a resident of Pensacola for 40 years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church serving in the Sanctuary Choir and traveling with them on several overseas tours. Mrs. Anthony taught Sunday School for many years, and had gone on a mission trip to Latvia. She was a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at the Lakeview Center for 33 years. An active member of the Council on Aging, Foster Parent/Grandparent Program, Psychology Association, Habitat for Humanity, she served as an usher at the Saenger Theater and the Little Theater. Her parents, step father Truman Cook, husband Robert Anthony, and brother Ronald Anderson preceded her in death. Mrs. Anthony is survived by two daughters, Jeanne Gibbs (Frank) of Gordon, GA, Laura Owen (Joe) of Jackson, MS; son Dave Anthony (Kate) of Carmichael, CA; six grandchildren Jasmine Thompson, Katie Eisner, Hannah Gibbs, Nate Owen, Andrew Owen, Amber Owen; three great grandchildren Nick and Catie Thompson and Gabriel Eisner. Visitation will be 9:30am until the Memorial Service at 10:30am Saturday, February 19, 2011 in the Pleitz Chapel of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Anthonys cremains will be buried in the Springhill Cemetery in Nashville, TN at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to ROC at First Baptist Church, 500 N.
