Sylvia Lynn Brock passed on peacefully the morning of Sunday, September 17, 2023.

Sylvia was born on October 18, 1940, in Collinsville, MS to her blessed parents, Johnnie Hubbard Palmer Senior and Stella Varner Palmer and raised her with love and devotion. She moved to Pensacola in her youth and attended Warrington Junior High School where she was a cheerleader there. Afterwards she attended Pensacola High School, and she met Robert "Bob" Brock, whom she later married. Sylvia moved to New York City after graduation and worked at the New York Public Library. She came back to Pensacola and Bob Brock stole her away from an aviator one night at the Silver Sands. They became engaged and later married at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church. They were married for 35 years, and both worked for civil service at the Naval Aviation Depot at Pensacola Naval Air Station until they retired.

She is survived by her two children, Bryan and Rebecca Brock; sister, Jacqueline Palmer Wood; nieces, Julie Blankenship (Dan), Valerie Blankenship (Mike), Kathy Palmer Jones (Steve), Joan Marie Wood (Gary), and Jennifer Lynn Wood (Tim); nephews, Michael Myers (Shannon) and Dave Myers (Jamie); as well as her grandnephews, Cole Wood Statz, Dylan, and Michael Myers.

Private family services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to the Pensacola Humane Society in Sylvia's name.
