Dr. Teodoro Boniao Jongko of Pensacola, FL departed this world on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at the young age of 75. Teodoro was a brilliant doctor with a zest for life! He never met a stranger and touched the lives of everyone he encountered. Teodoro was born in Manila, Philippines on April 4, 1940 to Attorney Castor Jongko and Leandra Jongko. Teodoro was a 1965 Graduate of the University of Santo Thomas Medical School in the Philippines. He completed his internship in Anesthesiology at New York University-Bellevue Medical Center in 1972. Teodoro cofounded the the Anesthesiology Department at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL. Teodoro worked alongside the late Dr. Leo Flynn, who was an orthopedic surgeon who introduced Teodoro to Auburn University and the football team he came to love. He was the President of the APPFP for two terms. Teodoro had a beautiful singing voice and was an accomplished pianist. He never missed an opportunity to use these talents to entertain at parties, weddings, and his favorite Karaoke spots. He loved to play like Liberace and sing like Sinatra. Teodoro traveled the world with his beautiful bride Dr. Germelina Jongko. Survivors include his beautiful loving wife of 47 years; Dr. Germelina Jongko, four children; Castor George Jongko, Eliza Jongko Ray (Andrew), Richard John Jongko and Theodore Christopher Jongko (Catherine). Grandchildren are Joshua Andrew Jongko, William David Jongko, Courtney Lauren Jongko, Hailey Victoria Jongko, Benjamin Alexander Jongko, Noah Matthew Jongko, Chloe Nicole Jongko Ray, Katherine Maria Jongko Ray & Andrew Philip Jongko Ray, Callie Grace Jongko and Brian Gunner Jongko. Rosary will be prayed at 5:00pm followed by the visitation until 8:00pm Friday, May 15, 2015 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Saturday, May 16, 2015 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Doug Halsema celebrant. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. In the end, Dr. Jongko was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. He truly lived his life to the fullest, every day, and" Did It His Way." In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the APPFP (Association of the Philippine Physicians of the Florida Panhandle). Donations will be used to build homes for the homeless in the Philippines.
