Our much-loved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, Teresa “Teri” Ann Knee, of Gulf Breeze, FL, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, April 22, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with an incurable brain disease.
Teri was born on March 2, 1953, in Dillonvale, OH. She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Marano and Julie Kujawa Marano. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 50 years, Dale; her sons, Matthew (Brittany) and Ryan; and her cherished grandson, Julian August. She is also survived by her brothers, sisters, and a large extended family, all of whom she loved deeply and kept close in her heart. Teri warmly embraced Dale’s son, Jeff (Gwen), and her granddaughter, Sarah, as her own, forming a lasting and special bond that remained strong throughout her life.
Teri and Dale celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in October 2025, a beautiful milestone reflecting a lifetime of love, partnership, and shared devotion since their marriage at the historic Navy Chapel in Washington, D.C.
At the center of Teri’s life was her family. She created a warm, welcoming home filled with love, laughter, and care. She had a gift for making everyday moments special - whether through a thoughtfully prepared meal, a favorite family recipe, or simply time spent together around the table. Teri loved to read and could often be found with a book in hand, finding joy, comfort, and inspiration in the stories she treasured.
Teri will be remembered as a kind and radiant soul, known for her gentle spirit, warm smile, and sincere kindness to everyone she met. Her deep faith guided her life and was reflected in the compassion and grace she showed to others.
After college, Teri began her professional career in Columbus, OH, and later moved to Washington, D.C., where she met Dale in what felt like a series of fortunate coincidences - they became neighbors, met that first weekend, and quickly formed a bond that would last a lifetime. Their early days together were filled with adventure, from evenings in Georgetown to weekend outings exploring nearby towns, leading to their marriage just six months later.
While Teri had a meaningful and accomplished professional life, she took the greatest pride in being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Throughout the years, Teri and Dale shared many chapters together - from Washington, D.C., to Jacksonville, FL, and eventually settling in Gulf Breeze in 1993. There, they built a life rooted in family, faith, and community, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00am Thursday, May 14, 2026, at St. Ann Catholic Church, Gulf Breeze, FL, with Msgr. Luke Hunt celebrant. Committal service will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, Naval Air Station Pensacola at 1:00pm. A reception to follow at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in East Hill.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida.
