Obituary

Thomas Malcolm Clark, CDR, USN (retired) was born on December 15, 1918 in Marianna, FL. He moved to Apalachicola at age 8 months. He lived there until he moved to Chicago, IL where he worked in the steel industry as an electrician. He was accepted in the US Navy as an aviation cadet and received his Naval Aviator wings when he was commissioned an Ensign. He was a veteran of World War II and retired with the rank of Commander. He married Cleo C. Lochas in 1948. He was a member of the Retired Officers Association, Escambia Lodge #15, Masonic Order and St. Christophers Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cleo and his parents, Charles Thomas and Alice Lena Clark. He is survived by his daughters, Sandra (Gary) Groves (Orange Park, FL), Christina (Lawson) Hynson (San Diego, CA) and Dr. Mary E. Clark (Arlington, VA); his grandchildren, LT Thomas (Leslie) Groves (Fleming Island, FL), Mary Alice Groves (Orange Park, FL) and Joshua Hynson (San Diego, CA); nephews, Dr. Ray (Mary) Solomon (Tallahassee, FL) and Roy (Margie) Solomon (Apalachicola, FL). Tom came to rely on Roys counsel even more since the death of his beloved wife Cleo. Graveside services will be held at 11am Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at St. Johns Cemetery with Rev. Susan Sowers officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Christophers Episcopal Church, 3200 N. 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32503. HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
