May 1, 1939 – September 18, 2020
Thomas Elgar Logsdon, Sr. was born in Coville, WA on May 1, 1939 to Francis Ferrier and Elgar Logsdon. After an amazing life, he passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 to live with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Tom grew up in Bremerton, WA graduating from Bremerton High in 1958. He then joined the US Air Force at the age of 18. He greatly enjoyed his 20-year career traveling to all 50 states and 68 foreign countries.
He married Vivian Kathleen Hawkins in January 1972 while he was stationed at home. While in the service he earned a BA and MBA degree from Eastern Illinois University and later a PhD in Christian Education from Jacksonville Theological Seminary. He excelled at all sports and loved to restore old cars. Tom also loved serving the Lord by helping his friends and neighbors. He and his wife also traveled abroad to several different countries on several short-term mission trips.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his only sibling, Marciela Quist.
He is survived by his loving wife Vivian Logsdon, and their three kids, Laura Ann Logsdon, Paul Albert Logsdon of Pensacola, FL and Kristine Louise Rice (Stephen) of Sand Springs, OK and 3 grandchildren; as well as his other children, Debra Logsdon of Scotland, Thomas E. Logsdon Jr. (Anya), Michelle Logsdon and Kathryn Mount (Kevin) of Spokane, WA, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 11:30am until the Funeral Service to begin at 12:30pm Friday, October 2, 2020 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Len Ballenger of Jubilee International Church where Tom attended for thirty years will officiate. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with full Air Force honors.
