Thomas Stephen (Tommy) Maher, 63, of Pensacola, FL passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015. Tommy was born on February 21, 1952 and grew up in Pensacola. He graduated from Pensacola High School in 1970 and received an AS degree from Pensacola Junior College. He worked as a welder offshore and at Westinghouse Electric Co. as a welder and an electrician until the facility closed in 1997. Tommy loved the outdoors, whether fishing and boating in local waters or hiking in the mountains. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Ireland, home of his ancestors. Most of all he loved his family, friends and country. He was preceded in death by his father, Philip Joseph Maher, Sr., and his mother, Maggie Irene Godwin Maher. Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Ann Wiley Maher; son, John Thomas Maher; brother, Philip J. Maher, Jr. (Barbara) of Tallahassee, FL; nieces, Stephanie Maher Goodwin (Wes) of Jacksonville, FL, Kimberly Maher West (Ryan) of Tallahassee, FL. A Memorial Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00pm Monday, November 16, 2015 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.
