Thomas W. Moyer, a native of Pensacola, FL, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 2, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Susie Moyer; his loving wife of 70 years, Rheba; his younger brother, Donald Moyer and his son, Paul Moyer.

Mr. Moyer was born in Pensacola on October 12, 1922, in the house that is now called, New York Deli. He was proud to have served his country in the US Army during WWII in France and Germany. After serving his country, he returned home to his career with the US Postal Service. Mr. Moyer worked his way up to Supervisor of Services and Personnel, until his retirement in October of 1979. After some travel and leisure with his wife, Mr. Moyer was approached by Monsignor Sindik about undertaking the administrator job at Holy Cross Cemetery. In January of 1981, after enjoying a short retirement, it was with great pride he took on the role of administrator at Holy Cross Cemetery. He truly enjoyed his time at Holy Cross Cemetery with his employees and the numerous friends he met along the way. When he finally retired in July of 1996, Mr. Moyer's efforts could clearly be seen and this left him with such a great feeling. Mr. Moyer was a charter member of St. Paul Catholic Church and an avid member of the Knights of Columbus for over 25 years where he served as financial secretary.

He is survived by his four sons, Bud Moyer (Gloria), Ed Moyer, Randy Moyer (Betty), and Chris Moyer (Theresa); 6 grandchildren, Marla DeGilio (Kip), Edward Moyer (Kelli), Emily Jones (Greg), Becky Moyer, Brandy Moyer and Heather Swem; 9 great grandchildren, Kylie and Alec DeGilio, Kaiya, Maila and Hunter Moyer, Kennedy Jones, Evan, Parker, and Ilias Swem.

Visitation will be held 10:30am until a Funeral Mass to begin at 11:30am Friday, May 6, 2016 at St. Paul Catholic Church, with Fr. Kevin McQuone celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Frank Gomez, Tommy Harris, Greg Jones, Jack Henderson, Edward Moyer and Randy Weaver.

Honorary pallbearers will be Clarence Green, Tommy Osborne, Jim Osborne, Joe Pastucha and Bill Whitlock.
