Vaughn Thomas "Tom" Markham was born on January 10, 1942, and passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, in Pensacola, FL.

Tom was born to Vaughn Benedict Markham and Hazel Allen Markham. He graduated from Pensacola High School in 1960. From there, he went to PJC (PSC) and played baseball, eventually graduating from Troy University with a BS Math and the University of California Irvine with a MS in Math. Tom was a high school math teacher and taught in Alabama, Florida, Texas, and California before retiring and returning home to Pensacola. Tom loved to travel with his wife and beagles, hiking and camping. He had lifelong friends whom he met with weekly for lunch and golf.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Ann Markham Abrams; brother, Donald A. Markham, Sr.; nephew, Donald A. Markham, Jr.; stepson, Raymond Anthony Roppolo; as well as his great-great nephew, Jack McIntosh.

Tom is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sue Stringfield Markham; his stepdaughters, Stephanie Roppolo, Ginny Roppolo Stimpson, and Sara Warner; grandsons, Benjamin Stimpson, Sheppard Stimpson, John Stimpson, Jr. and Charles Murphy; his sister-in-law, Barbara Bullock; nephew, Paul Kane; niece, Candace Kane McIntosh; two great nieces, three great nephews, and three great, great nieces and nephews, along with his beloved dog Muffy and Baby the cat.

A Memorial Service will be 10:00am Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Christ Episcopal Church 18 W. Wright Street, Pensacola, FL 32501, with The Rev. Dr. Michael Hoffman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to the Pensacola Humane Society, 5 N. Q St., Pensacola, FL 32505.
