Obituary

CDR Anthony William Marcantonio, USN (ret.), age 85, of Pace, was called home Wednesday, October 16, 2019.

He was born on March 24, 1934 in Milburn, NJ to the late Nichola and Michelina Marcantonio. "Tony" grew up in Milburn and graduated high school there. He attended Alleghany College in Meadville, PA where he graduated with a degree from the College of Business. Tony served in the US Navy and retired as a Commander after a distinguished 26-year career. After retirement he worked at Seville Research, United Airlines Training Corporation, Flight Safety International, and TSM Corporation. All of which dealt with variations of flight training, research, safety and maintenance. Tony loved his Brooklyn/L.A. Dodgers and the Tampa Bay Lightning. He spent many years volunteering as an Optimist Club member.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Davis Marcantonio; his parents; and brother, Albert J. Marcantonio.

Tony is survived by his sons, Steven Marcantonio (Deborah) of Mobile, AL, David Marcantonio (Michele) of Pace, FL, and Michael Howland Marcantonio (Cathy) of Niceville, FL; grandchildren, Nicholas (Annalisa), Nichole, Anthony, Olivia, William, and Mathew; great-granddaughter, Calista; and a host of extended family and friends.

Tony lived a full and happy life. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. We believe his only regret in life would have been that he wasn't able to vote for President Trump in 2020.

Memorial Service will be held 10:00am Friday, November 1, 2019 at Woodbine Church, 5200 Woodbine Rd., Pace, FL with Pastor Jimmy Allen officiating. A funeral cortege will depart 1:00pm Friday, November 1, 2019 from Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, Pensacola, FL for a 1:30pm Committal Service at Barrancas National Cemetery with full Navy honors.
