Trudy Cutrone, 82, of Pensacola passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015. Trudy was a native of Salzburg, Austria who came to the United States in 1955 as of the bride of Navy Lt. j.g. Frank Cutrone. Together they raised five wonderful children, Claudia, Cynthia, Christine (deceased), Lee and Peter, while living in twelve different states as Frank's career evolved intertwined with Trudy's. Her career initially started as a homemaker; then as a student, along with her children, highlighted by a Master's Degree from the University of Pittsburgh with a major in English Writing; then as a high school teacher; followed by a short stint as a realtor. When Frank retired, Trudy, Frank and their son Peter collaborated to run an award winning Inn in New Hampshire. Trudy was the chef and as such wrote her first book, "Recipes from a New England Inn". After the sale of the Inn, Trudy and Frank took a year off traveling the U.S. in their motor home sightseeing the nation's wonders and trying to decide where to "settle down." Their choice 20 years ago was Pensacola where Trudy wrote her second book, "Karl's Story", a semi-fictional memoir of her childhood in war-torn Austria in WWII (available soon on Amazon). In Pensacola, Trudy was heavily involved in her beloved Newcomers, Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, Pensacola Opera, and a small memoir writing group. Trudy is survived by Frank; their four children named above; eleven grandchildren, Kathryn, Ryan, Erika, Kelly, Christina, Will, Haley, Tyler, Sam, Ana Grace, and Miles; and her many Pensacola friends. While she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in her family and friends. And through her abiding faith, we know she is now seeing God's face. Visitation will be held 5-7pm Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at the corner of Airport and 12th Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00am Friday, November 6, 2015 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, located at 9945 Hillview Dr., Pensacola, FL 32514, with Msgr. Michael Mooney celebrant.
