Van McKinnon passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones at the age of 77. Van was born in Pensacola, FL on December 18, 1947, and passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

Van graduated from The University of West Florida with an accounting degree and worked at the Escambia County Comptrollers Office as an accountant for 20 years. After retiring he volunteered at Baptist and Navy Hospitals.

Van will be remembered for his kind spirit, devotion to family and God, and the love he shared throughout his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Mary Ellen (Van Horn) McKinnon; his brother, Alvin McKinnon, Jr.; former sister in law, Sandy McKinnon Bruce, and nephew Darin McKinnon.

He is survived by his brother, Denis McKinnon, Sr. (Maureen); his niece, Tammy St. Mary (Karl), nephew, Scott McKinnon (Lessa), niece, Denise Wilson (Wade); nephew, Denis McKinnon, Jr. (Perri); 8 great nieces and nephews and 8 great great nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 10:00am until a funeral service begins at 11:00 am Friday, September 19, 2025, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. There will be a private burial following the service.
