Vance Q. Land, 76, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024.

Vance was employed with Pensacola State College (formerly Pensacola Junior College) for over 30 years serving as a vice president and, in later years, as a professor. Previously, he was employed with the Florida Auditor General for over a decade.

Vance was a charter member of the first graduating class at the University of West Florida in 1969 where he earned a bachelor's degree in accounting. He also earned a master's degree in accounting at the University of West Florida and a master's degree in management at Troy University. He earned a doctoral degree in public administration at The University of Alabama and was a Certified Public Accountant in Florida. He was a Christian and played piano since his early teens for several gospel groups and churches of various denominations.

Vance is preceded in death by his father and mother, Gordon and Mary Land, and his sister and brother-in-law, Lula Mae and Donald Hunter.

He is survived by his nephew and niece, Dexter and Bonnie Hunter.

An interment service will be held 11:00am Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 7433 Pine Forest Rd, Pensacola, FL 32526.

In lieu of flowers, Vance requested donations to the Salvation Army or to a church or charity of your choice and that you do a good deed for someone in need.
