Vaughn Dean Cook, 88, of Foley, AL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 6, 2025.
He was a beloved father and grandfather. A "Military Honor Walk" will be held Friday, July 18, 2025, at 2:00pm, Sacred Heart Hospital, 5153 N 9th Ave, Pensacola FL. Afterwards, a "Celebration of Life" in his honor will be held from 4:00-6:00pm at Liberty Church, 110 E Riviera Blvd, Foley, AL.
Vaughn Dean Cook was born on July 15, 1936, near Paris, TX to Otha King and Alma Belle Cook. His family moved to Tulsa, OK when he was 8 years old, where he lived until he joined the U.S. Navy. Vaughn retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. He also retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 10 years. He earned a B.A. degree from Southwest Texas State University after retiring from the Navy. He was a Life Member of the VPW, Post 8541, in San Antonio, TX. Vaughn enjoyed reading, walking, driving and was a member of Liberty Church, Foley, AL.
He is survived by his sons, Timothy Cook of Austin, TX and Jeff Cook of Foley, AL, daughter, Tammy Cook Farrington of Lewisville, TX. He is also survived his grandkids, Shaune Corbett and his wife, Stacey Corbett of Flower Mound, TX, Dylan Corbett of Lewisville, TX, Allison Cook of Austin, TX and Jennifer Cook of Charlotte, SC; great grandkids include Alex Corbett, Skylar Corbett, Annalise Corbett and Allison Corbett.
