Noa, Sr.
January 1, 1928 – August 8, 2017
Vincent V. Noa, 89, was born January 1, 1928 and died August 8, 2017 after a lengthy illness. Vincent was a native Pensacolian and a lifelong member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. He served as Sacristan for over 20 years participating in daily Mass as server and Eucharistic Minister. He and his wife, Jane, received the 2009 Diocesan Medal of Honor for Lifetime Achievement. He was a loving and devoted husband and a loving father who was the heart of the family. He was a WW II, US Army veteran, serving in the occupation of Japan 1946-48. He worked for the L&N/CSX Railroad for 38 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Valentin Sardiñas Noa and Margaret Eugenia Moloney Noa; his brothers, Val S., Jr., M. Macias, Hugh M., and Val S., Jr.; his sisters, Mary Frances Thrasher, Sister Bernard Noa, DC, and Rosalie Woodruff.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jane Morgan Noa; daughters, Diana Foote (Richard) and Jane Sketoe (Bob); sons, Vincent Noa, Jr. (Frances), John Noa (Terry) and Paul Noa; grandchildren, Kimberly Foote, Richard Foote (Heather), Michelle Horton (Clint), Nichole Noa, Jacob Noa (Michelle), Elizabeth Kessinger (Rocky), Dana Sullivan (Shayne), Bryan Noa (Karen), Angela Jones (Justice), Nathan Noa (Arezoo), Brandon Noa, Becky Cole (Scotty), Sarah Mackey, Stephanie Noa (Brenton Goodman), Ashley Logan (Barrett) and Nicholas Noa (Michelle); as well as 25 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be prayed at 5:30pm followed by the visitation until 8:00pm Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 1212 E. Moreno St., Pensacola, FL.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:00am Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart with Msgr. Michael Reed and Fr. James Valenzuela concelebrants. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 1300 E. Hayes St., Pensacola, FL.
Pallbearers will be his sons, Vincent, John and Paul; sons-in-law, Richard Foote and Bob Sketoe and family friend, Robert Broadley.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, please have Masses said for the repose of Vincent's soul or contributions may be made to his favorite charities, St. Joseph's Indian School, P. O. Box 326, Chamberlain, SD 57326 and St. Labre Indian School, P. O. Box 216, Ashland, MT 59003.
