Virginia "Ginny" Ficht, 93, of Gulf Breeze, FL passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018.

Ginny was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1924. Her family moved to Tampa a few years later, where she would go on to graduate from H. B. Plant High School in 1942. She met the love of her life at that time and was married less than a year later in 1942 to Harry T. Ficht. They would eventually find their way to Gulf Breeze, FL, where they had their daughter Diane. Ginny became a widow in 1996 when Harry passed away. Ginny continued to reside in Gulf Breeze, a period spanning a total of 62 years, until the time of her passing. She had a passion for reading and up until recently would make regular weekly trips to the Gulf Breeze library. Ginny was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry T. Ficht.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane M. Kelley of Gulf Breeze, FL; grandsons, Paul T. Kelley (Rachel) of Woodstock, GA and Phillip A. Kelley of Jacksonville Beach, FL; great-grandchildren, Noah T. Kelley and Caroline G. Kelley both of Woodstock, GA; nieces, Regina Wachholder and Joanie Sanchez both of Palm Coast, FL.

Visitation will be held 5-7pm Friday, November 2, 2018 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.

Funeral Mass will be held 10:00am Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel with Fr. Joseph Callipare celebrant.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ginny's neighbors, Linda and Hal Holston and Mary and Dr. Don Todd for their friendship and support throughout the years, also to Ginny's doctors and staff for the care and support they provided.
