Obituary

Virginia Grace "Ginny" Deagan was born on May 22, 1928, in Bradford, PA to Ralph and Grace (Bullock) Miller. She died on May 3, 2016 in Pensacola, FL.

Ginny married Thomas David Deagan in 1947 and spent the next 23 years as a Navy wife. While raising four children, she moved to posts including New Jersey, England, Guam, Taiwan, Rhode Island and Florida.

Ginny was a member of St Michael's Church. She was a member of the West Florida Genealogical Society, a volunteer in the genealogy section of the Pensacola Library and a member of the Mayflower Society. She was active in the Escambia County League of Women Voters and an avid bridge player. She also worked as Office Manager for Donovan Realty. After Tom's retirement from his post-Navy career in real estate, they traveled the country, enjoying rock hunting, genealogy research and visiting family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Thomas Deagan; her parents, Ralph and Grace Miller of Rew, PA and her brother, Ralph Miller of Longwood, FL.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen Deagan (the late Larry Harris) of St. Augustine, FL; son, Thomas Michael Deagan (April) of Pensacola; daughter, Patricia Bint (Alan) of Pensacola and son, Timothy Deagan (Tracy) of Austin, TX; brother, Larry Miller (Ruthann) of Deland, FL; 6 grandchildren, Jeremy Deagan (Tina) of Fayetteville, NC, Christa Deagan of Gainesville, FL, Joel Deagan of Las Vegas, NV, Ian Deagan of Pensacola, FL, Pepper Deagan of Austin, TX and Daniel Mann (Dorothy) of Hattiesburg, MS; 4 great-grandchildren, Jayden and Jordan Deagan of Fayetteville, NC and Braden and Darcy Mann of Hattiesburg, MS.

A funeral cortege will depart Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 12:45pm for a Graveside Service to begin at 1:15pm Friday, May 6, 2016 at Barrancas National Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Ellisor officiating.
