Obituary

Virginia Jackson, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.

Virginia was born April 6, 1928 in Bullock County, AL to D. Arnold and Mercer Caylor and grew up there with her 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She later married her beloved husband, George "Jack" Jackson and they moved to Tuskegee, AL, where they raised their two daughters and owned "Jackson Drugs". Virginia worked along side her pharmacist husband for 18 years before selling the store. After living in a few other places, she and Jack settled down in the old family home in Union Springs, AL. After the death of her husband, her health declined and she moved to Pensacola, FL to be near her daughter. Virginia was known for her sweet, gentle Christian spirit. and her devotion to the Lord, her church, family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George, the love of her life; her precious daughter, Nancy; her sister, Jennie Lee Caylor; brothers, Raymond and D. Arnold "Bully" Caylor.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Jackson of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, and Emily Marcato and their father, Forrest "Mac" Marcato of Montgomery, AL; great-grandchildren, Sam, Fin and Sarah Sahlie Marcato of Fairhope, AL; sister, Patty Jean Williams of Belle Chasse, LA; sisters-in-law, Peggy Caylor of Cullman, AL, Joan Jackson Ward Houston of Baton Rouge, LA and many loving nieces and nephews. .

The family would like to express thanks to Solaris Health Care of Pensacola, FL for 7 years of loving care, with special thanks to the "C wing" nurses and aides who she came to love very much. We would also like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice for their care and support this past year.

Visitation will be held 1:00pm until a Funeral Service at 2:00pm Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Gray Funeral Home Chapel, 110 Martin Luther King Blvd N., Union Springs, AL.

Virginia loved to be surrounded by flowers, or donations may be made to First Baptist Church, Union Springs, AL.
