Virginia Howard McDavid, 96, of Pensacola passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014. Virginia was born in Asheville, NC on July 21, 1918. She graduated from UNCG Womens College and received a Masters Degree from FSU. She taught for many years in Pensacola with special work in the kindergarten and reading programs. Virginia was active in many organizations including ADK, Pilot, First Presbyterian Church, RIF Retired Educators and Questers. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ginger Archer. Virginia is survived by her son, Rob McDavid (Dee) of Pensacola; daughter Mary Anne Cable (Charlie) of Raleigh, NC; son-in-law Ron Archer of Pensacola; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. There will be a Celebration of Life Service 11:00am Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Joyce Goldenberg Hospice for their care and concern.
