Virginia Marie Williams Nielsen, 96, of Pensacola, Florida died Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

Virginia was born August 13, 1926, in Pensacola, FL to George Mason Williams and Olive Lucille Sutherland Williams. She retired from the US Navy Civil Service after a long career in Supply and as a Budget Analyst at NAS Pensacola, FL. She was an avid bridge player and a long-standing member of Saint Anne Catholic Church, Bellview, FL.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, George and Lucille Williams; husband, Marshall "Bud" Nielsen; brother, Ralph Williams; sister, Bette Dobalo; son, James Douglas Nielsen; grandson, Paul Nielsen; and great granddaughter, Brittney Nielsen Daughtry.

Virginia is survived by her son, Kenneth Nielsen (Marsha); her son, David Nielsen (Janice); her daughter, Marsha Nielsen; grandchildren, Joey Nielsen (Carol), Todd Nielsen, Stephanie Rivera (Frank), and Michael Nielsen; and her great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild, and nieces.

Visitation will be held 11:00am-12:00pm Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel. A funeral cortege will depart Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 12:20pm sharp for a Graveside Service to begin at 1:00pm at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, with Fr. Chuck Collins, Celebrant.
