Voncile Kendrick passed away peacefully surrounded by family in the Hospice wing of West Florida Hospital on December 6, 2009. Voncile was born May 5, 1925, in Opp, AL. She graduated from Opp High School in 1946 and attended business school in Dothan, AL. Voncile moved to Pensacola in November of 1953 making her home in Myrtle Grove. She retired from Monsanto in 1981 after 28 1/2 years service, having perfect attendance except for one day in April of 1954 due to sunburn. She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford E. and Rena P. (Hickman) Kendrick, a sister, Eleanor Kendrick, brother, Bradley E. Kendrick, and brother- in-law, Hal W. Roberts. She is survived by her sister, John-Annie Roberts, sister-in-law Dot (Cauley) Kendrick, nephews H. Cecil Clark (Becky) of Pensacola, W. Harold Clark (Margot) of Orlando, Brad Kendrick of Fort Walton, Barry Kendrick (Vicky) of Niceville, niece Dottie Kendrick of Freeport Fl. and numerous family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all those blessed to have known her. Her family will hold her in their hearts and memories forever. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM with services at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel. Services will be conducted by the Reverend Riley Richardson assisted by Brother Joe Matzer with internment to follow at Bayview Memorial Park. Active pallbearers are Brothers Harry Blackmon, Ron Hedrick, John Helpling, Harold Pugh, Mike Rawson, and Keith Thorpe. Honorary pallbearers are Lawrence Baker, Richard George, John Amargo, Jim Fortner, Fred McDonald, Bob Ross, Carl Trickey, and Lewis Zangus. At Vonciles request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Asso., 4400 Bayou Blvd, Pensacola, FL 32503; the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, DC 20004 or Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504 HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
