Walter Gerard "Buster" Behrens of Gulf Breeze, FL went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the age of 63. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather.
Walter, or Buster as he was known to family and friends, was born on May 21, 1958 in Neptune, NJ. The oldest son of the late Walter Charles Behrens and Cynthia Netto Behrens, Buster was the second of five siblings. He enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17 and was stationed in Germany. He attended school at R.E.T.S. in Metairie, LA. He was an electronics and dialysis technician for nearly 20 years.
Buster was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Cherylyn Mary Nores, on November 18, 1983. This union was blessed with 3 children, followed by 3 grandchildren. While raising his family in Gulf Breeze, Buster pursued an enthusiastic interest in Astronomy. Following his retirement, he found joy in being an involved and devoted Paw Paw to his grandchildren.
Buster is preceded in death by his father, Walter Charles Behrens, mother Cindy Netto Behrens, sister Patricia Behrens Torres O'Neal, brother David P. Behrens, and loving father-in-law, Alvin J. Nores.
In addition to his wife, Cherylyn, Buster is survived by his daughter, Jessica Bushka (Tony) of Navarre; son, Walter A. Behrens of Gulf Breeze and son Scott Behrens (Sarah) of Jacksonville; his grandchildren, Joey, Aiden and Julianna; as well as his mother-in-law, Beverly G. Nores; sister, Cindy Kellum (Bobby); brother, John Behrens; sister-in-law, Diane Nores Satter; and brother-in-law, Robert J. Nores (Danelle).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, February 4, 2022 at St. Ann's Catholic Church beginning at 11:00 a.m., with a Memorial Mass following at 12 noon.
Buster had a smile that could light up a room. The only thing bigger than his smile was his heart. His life will be forever cherished in the lives of his wife, children, grand-children and large extended family.
