Walter A. Berard, Jr., 91, passed away Monday, December 25, 2017. Walter was a resident of Pensacola since 1972.
He was born to Walter and Vaudine Berard on September 5, 1926 in West Warwick, RI and had one sister, Jacqueline who preceded him in death.
He graduated High School in West Warwick, RI. Enlisted in the Army Aviation Cadet School at the age of 17 where he received numerous medals and awards. He attended Bryant School of Business after his Military career.
He worked Civil Service moving to NARF, Pensacola, FL from Quonset Point Naval Air Station, RI in 1972. He retired from Civil Service after 33 years and began a career in Real Estate.
He was a faithful member of Christ Episcopal Church, Pensacola and The Brotherhood of St. Andrew.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Marion Berard of 47 years and second wife, Tiney Ernestine Conners of 14 years.
Walter is survived by his two children; Jonathan D. Berard (Kay) of Tallassee, AL and Susan C. Sears (Bill) of Pensacola, FL; three grandchildren, Sarah C. Harrison (Ryan), Alyson M. Duncan (Cutter) and Lauren K. Merritt (Ben) as well as four great grandchildren, Lincoln, Jack, Benny and Addison.
Visitation will be held at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 5-7pm.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 beginning at 10:30am at Christ Episcopal Church, downtown Pensacola. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
