Wanda Sue Sarnacki, known to many as “Miss Wanda,” and to those who mattered most as Mom, Grammy, and Ammy, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the age of 69.

Born on January 5, 1957, in Gainesville, GA. Wanda earned a master’s degree in nursing from the University of South Alabama and worked as a nurse as well as a flight attendant for American Airlines. Working in both of these roles reflected who she was at her core - someone drawn to service, care, and helping others. Wanda lived a life marked by deep love, strong faith, and an unshakable devotion to her family. She was the proud mother of Michael Paul Holcomb and Matthew Bryan Sarnacki, and the adoring grandmother of Ashton Michael Holcomb and Madalynn Mae “Maddy Mae” Sarnacki, whom she loved fiercely and spoke of often.

Wanda was a woman with a kind heart and a stubborn streak — the kind that came from caring deeply and standing her ground. She had a way of worrying, nagging, and loving all at once, always checking in, always making sure her people were okay. She was the kind of mom who had her kids’ backs no matter what, and who would give her last breath, her last dollar, or her last ounce of strength to protect them. Her faith guided her through life, and her kindness was felt by friends, coworkers, and even strangers who crossed her path.

To the world, Wanda was a beautiful, kind-spirited woman. To her family, she was the center — imperfect, loving, protective, and deeply devoted in her own ways. Her voice, her concern, her pride, and her love will live on through her children and grandchildren.

Wanda will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
