Herbert Wesley "Wes" Borden, Jr., 82, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021.

Wes, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Linda Borden as well as his brothers, Sammy, and Dale.

Wes is survived by his children, Deborah Dawson (Kenneth), Andrea Schmidt (Rick), and Keith Borden (Katherine); his 5 grandchildren, Rebecca Dawson Rosas (Mark), Rachel Dawson Reimers (Ryan), Rob Dawson, Harper Borden, and Charlie Borden; his sisters, Donna Quick (Keith) and JoAnne Gonzalez (Bobby); as well as many nieces and nephews.

Wes was born on May 27, 1939, in Miami, FL to Herbert and Opal Borden (Holt). As one of 5 children, he loved to recount his many stories of growing up in a large family and could tell you his childhood address without missing a beat. Known as an all-around athlete in high school, he went on to play basketball at Georgia Southwestern. Wes also graduated from Florida State University and remained a dedicated Seminole fan throughout his life. He had a decorated career at Kraft/General Foods and retired after over 30 years of service, spending his retirement loving life - playing golf, watching sports, listening to Elvis, dancing, and singing karaoke. Affectionately known to many as the "silver fox," Wes brought joy, laughter, and countless stories to all who were lucky enough to know him.

Visitation will be held 1:00pm until the Memorial Service to begin at 2:00pm, Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel in Pensacola.

The family would like to give a special thanks to everyone at Bay Breeze Senior Living and Rehabilitation Center in Gulf Breeze for providing Wes with a loving home and second family for his final years.
