Wesley James Edward Henry, 79, of Pace, FL passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019.
He was born on September 2, 1939 in Port Huron, MI and was very proud to be a first generation American. Wesley proudly served his country honorably for 22 years in the US Army, ultimately retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 3. He completed several European tours as well as 3 combat tours during Vietnam. He truly enjoyed traveling, playing golf, skeet shooting, and most importantly being with his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Angelyn M. Henry; four daughters, Laura Henry Larson (James), Meredith A. Henry, Dianne Henry, and Monica Stewart (Kevin); his son, Vernon James Henry (Lucia); as well as nine grandchildren and two brothers, Leslie N. Henry and Warren E. Henry (Leann).
Visitation will be held 4-6pm Monday, January 14, 2019 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 10:30am Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, with Fr. Nick Phares officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with full Army honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
The family wants to give special thanks to Drs. Ryan and Patel at the Woodlands, the nurses and staff of West Florida ICU as well as the nurses and staff at West Florida Hospital, Covenant Hospice Unit.
