White Edward Gibson, III, M.D. passed away peacefully at his family home in Gulf Breeze, FL on Saturday, November 9, 2024.

He was born in Birmingham, AL on March 26, 1935, to the late Eleanor Stine Gibson and White Edward Gibson, Jr. White attended the University of Alabama, where he was a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He then attended Tulane Medical School in New Orleans, LA where he went on to practice Cardio-Vascular surgery for many years.

He retired to Gulf Breeze, FL and owned a beach house on Navarre Beach that he enjoyed sharing with family and friends. His other favorite pastimes included his weekly golf group, reading, daily crossword puzzles and Alabama/New Orleans Saints football.

White is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Lee Gibson; two sons, White Gibson, IV (Karen) and Forrest Gibson (Janet); two grandchildren, Lee Gibson (Katie) and Lauren Gibson; and one great grandchild, Calum Gibson.

The family extends its thanks to Emerald Coast Hospice for helping with his final days. A private family service will be held at a later date.
