Will
Sansom
December 15, 1986 – May 4, 2026
Scott William “Will” Sansom, age 39, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 4, 2026. Born on December 15, 1986, in Panama City, Will was raised in Bartlett, TN and later in Pensacola, FL, where he built lifelong friendships and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Will was truly one of a kind. He filled every room with laughter, jokes, kindness, and love. He had a way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and valued. His joyful spirit and compassionate heart touched countless lives.
Will shared a strong relationship with God and faithfully served on the worship team at Potential Church, where he played in the band. He had an incredible gift for music, especially playing the guitar. Music was more than a talent for Will - it was how he connected with people. He could play almost anything and brought joy and encouragement to so many through his music.
Will loved being outdoors and enjoyed paddle boarding, jet skiing, disc golf, traveling, concerts, playing the guitar, and spending time with family and friends. Some of the best memories made with Will were filled with adventure, laughter, music, and love.
After becoming sober, Will made a tremendous impact within the recovery community. He was passionate about helping others and was always willing to answer the phone, show up, encourage, and support those struggling. His testimony, compassion, and willingness to help others changed many lives.
Survivors include his loving parents, Scott and Neal Sansom; his sister, Kay Sansom; his beloved nephew, Carson; Aunt Ellen (Duby); Aunt Kay; Uncle Russell (Trish); Uncle Lee (Anne); Uncle Jon (Linda); and many adored cousins, family members, and dear friends who loved him deeply.
Visitation will be held from 11:00am until a Celebration of Life begins at 12:00noon Friday, May 8, 2026, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Revs. Jim and Sherri McRae officiating.
In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Will’s love for helping others, donations may be made to National Alliance on Mental Illness at NAMI.org.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, but his laughter, music, faith, and love will live on forever in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
