Obituary

William John Bear Stutz, 74, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2011. He was born in Trenton, NJ. He joined the National Guard for 2 years and then served 25 years in the Navy retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He did four tours in Viet Nam. He was employed as a civil servant at NADEP where he was an aviation sheet metal mechanic. He worked for Raytheon for 5 years. At the time of his death he was employed by Marianna Airmotive. During his time in the military, he visited many hospitals throughout the world performing card tricks and magic for children. He was an avid history buff and spent many hours assembling vintage model airplanes and ships. He was a loving husband and father who found great joy in his grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, John Alexander and Elizabeth Fannie Stutz of Trenton, NJ and a son, William John Stutz, Jr. of San Diego, CA. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley Ann Stutz and his children, Jim Stutz (Denby), Carri Thaler (Bob) and Sheryl Clark (Randy); his grandchildren, Trey Clark, Matt Clark, Chris Clark, Zack Thaler, Kayleah Thaler and Matthew McArthur and his brother, John Alexander Stutz, Jr. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from 5-7pm at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with a Rosary being prayed at 5pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 2:30pm at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Fr. Eugene Pathe officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors.org. HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
