Obituary

William "Bill" Gale DeMouy passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born October 15, 1929, in Mobile, AL to Augustine and Miriam DeMouy. He attended Little Flower Grammar School and McGill High School (1947) in Mobile, AL. Bill received his BS degree (1953) with honors in mechanical engineering from The Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn). He served as a Sergeant in the US Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in Japan, Korea, and mainland USA. Bill worked his entire career in the oil refinery industry with AMOCO, Chevron, and Exxon. He retired in 1984 from ESSO Eastern Corporation after 25 years of overseas service in Aruba, England, Okinawa, Libya, Australia, and Japan. He held various maintenance management and executive positions. Bill enjoyed tennis and golf. He played the saxophone and clarinet. Bill also sang in the St. Paul choir during funeral masses. He was a long time member of St. Paul Catholic Church, the Auburn Alumni Marching Band, and the Exxon Gulf Coast Annuitant Club.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Pat (Anthony) DeMouy.

He is survived by their five children, Cheryl L. Tucker, Mark W. DeMouy (Joan), Augustine F. DeMouy (Eve), Gloria P. Robinson, and James G. DeMouy (Donna). Bill is the grandfather to 10 grandchildren and to 5 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 10:30am until a Funeral Mass begins at 11:00am Monday, November 27, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Craig Smith celebrant. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
