Obituary

William Garner, 90, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. He graduated from Pensacola High in 1942. He worked at Pearl Harbor Navy Yard during WWII and returned to Pensacola NAS to work as a machinist. W.O. loved hunting, fishing and making knives. As a member of the Knifemakers Guild he won awards for his craftsmanship. He was a member of East Hill Masonic Lodge #310 and a past member of the York Rite Bodies, Hadji Shrine and Warrington Elks Lodge #2108. He is survived by his wife, Mary Grace; his daughter, Susan Peoples (Ray); his son, Jerry (Frances); grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 1:00pm until the Funeral Service beginning at 2:00pm Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. The family wants to give special thanks to those who cared for W.O. at West Florida Hospital and Covenant Hospice.
