William Merritt Green, age 88, of Pensacola, was called home December, 13, 2018. He was born June 05, 1930 to the late John Sr. and Nell Green, in El Paso, Texas. William was raised in Anthony, New Mexico and was a proud graduate of Georgia State University.   He was a member and served as a deacon at the Wieuca Road Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.

William had a long and successful career as an executive in the building materials industry. After retirement his pleasure was his cigar store and fellow aficionados in Pensacola, Florida.

He is preceded in death by his wife Mabel Eileen Batho Green; and his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children Kathy (Brad) Wilson of Pensacola, Florida and Scott Green of Atlanta, Georgia; granddaughter Claire Wilson of Pensacola, Florida; sister-in-law Barbara Batho of Atlanta, Georgia; nephew Dr. Jim (Karlene) Green of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Memorial Service will be at 10:00am Monday, December 17, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church, 1 St Francis Dr, Gulf Breeze, FL 32561.

In lieu of flowers his family is requesting contributions in Williams memory to the Gila Conservation Society, 305A North Cooper Street, Silver City, NM 88061.
