William Brett Henke passed from this world on Christmas Eve in a tragic accident in Riviera Beach, FL. Born February 23, 1968, he grew up in Jacksonville, FL, Montgomery, AL, Topsham, ME and Warminster, PA with his Navy family. His adult travels took him from New York City to Miami, FL. Brett is survived by his parents, Milton "Butch" and Janice Henke; three brothers, Bubba Henke (Debbie), Michael Henke (Mary Kaye) and Kristopher Henke. He also leaves a loving grandmother, Bonnie Henke and three loving aunts, Julie Pangle and Uncle Jerry, Linda Roodhouse and Uncle Mark and Aunt Pat Price. Though he has no children, Uncle Brett was a favorite of his nieces and nephews and his great joy was to bring cheer to all children and to let them know that someone loved them as they are. Though sometimes disappointed and feeling betrayed by the faith and trust placed in his fellow man and his own weaknesses, Brett never wavered in his faith and trust in the love his God had for him. It is this knowledge that brings comfort to his family and his extended family at Spanish Trail Baptist Church that Brett is at peace in the arms of God. There is emptiness in our hearts but, as David said in II Samuel 12:23 regarding the death of his son, "I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me." That is our joy. Visitation will be held 2:00pm until a Celebration of Life to begin at 3:00pm Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Spanish Trail Baptist Church, 7130 Spanish Trail, Pensacola. There will be a time of fellowship after the service. The family would like to thank Tanner Morris of Harper Morris Memorial Chapel for his caring assistance in our time of need.
