Obituary

William Welles Langford Sr. of Pensacola, FL passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014. Mr. Langford was born in Pensacola, FL on August 31, 1921. He graduated from Pensacola High School, class of 1939 and was captain of the football team. He attended college at Roanoke in Salem, VA. William was in the Army in World War II. After his military service, he and his brother Adrian operated a flight school at Pensacola Airport. He was employed by Flur Daniels as an Instrument Engineer in Puerto Rico for 16 years then continued with Instrument Control Service as project manager. After retirement he and his wife traveled the world. William will be remembered dearly and often. William is preceded in death by his son, Bruce Alden; granddaughter, Alexandra Ruth; father, Adrian Langford; mother, Ruth Welles Langford; brothers, Adrian and Donald; sisters, Barbara and Joyce. Mr. Langford is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Patricia; son and daughter-in-law, William Welles Langford Jr. and Andromache; grandson, Bruce Austin and great grandson Kristopher; nephews, Bill Balko and wife Diane; David Balko, Jason Gentry and Adrian Langford III; nieces, Dinesh Bahadursing and Ann Williams, three sisters-in-law, Antoinette Payne, Joan Longley, and Dorothy Tobiassen. A visitation will be held Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 2-3 pm with a Memorial Service beginning at 3 pm at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.
