Obituary

"By the time you're eighty years old you've learned everything. You only have to remember it."- Bill Vaughan

Wilma, known by family and friends as "Jean", passed away the morning of May 2, 2017.

Word has it that your life has been lived by age 40. After Jean's 80th birthday a few months ago, she was proud to announce that she had turned 40 twice-- and what an understatement that is. She was a proud Air Force veteran, hospital worker, and avid church volunteer. Her story, however, doesn't lie in her accomplishments but instead in the families she formed throughout her journey. Her immediate family began when she met her match and future husband Charles "Chuck" Olmsted in the Air Force, and together they had four beautiful redheaded children: Tony, Ronnie, Dale, and Debbie. She loved her work family at Baptist where she spent many rewarding years and most of all she was a devout member of Warrington United Methodist Church where she was the heart of a loving community. By serving on several committees, providing baked goods to the youth group, and as a greeter that was always welcoming to all who came to worship she touched the lives of everyone who walked through the doors.

She was a friend to all and spent her time giving and taking care of others, from crocheting baby blankets to providing housing for those in need. She asked no questions, made no judgements and may we all learn to lead by her example.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Olmsted and son, Ronald Olmsted.

She is survived by her sons, Anthony (Sallie) Olmsted, Dale Olmsted; daughter, Deborah Lewis and granddaughters, Sara Vaughn and Rachael Olmsted.

Please help us celebrate her life and her memory by leaving no pew empty Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the 10am church service at Warrington Methodist Church, 301 E. Winthrop Ave

Pensacola, FL 32507.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the church in her memory.
