Wilmer M. "Bill" Menges, at 92 years of age went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at his home. Bill was born in Fayetteville, AR on January 17, 1933, to the late David and Carolyn Washington Menges. At the age of three the family moved to Brooksville, FL. He attended Hernando High School Class of 1951.

During his youth Bill worked in the citrus fruit warehouse, and at the hardware store in Brooksville after school. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force for four years and went on to retire with thirty-five years of Civil Service at Pensacola Naval Air Station.

On December 4, 1976, he married Sylvia Goneke. Together they traveled the US and Canada in a RV and started Heirloom Antiques. They were longtime members of Olive Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, William "Bill" Desso Menges; his sister, Doris Varn Morton; as well as a brother, David Lee Menges, of Brooksville, FL.

Those left to cherish his memory include, his loving wife of 48 years, Sylvia Menges; his son, Fred (Nance) Menges, of Tupelo, MS; his granddaughter, Courtney Menges, of Tupelo, MS; his grandson, Adam Menges of Pensacola, FL and several nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held 9:00am - 10:00am Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. A funeral cortege will depart Harper-Morris at 10:00am sharp for a Graveside Service that begins at 10:30am Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Barrancas National Cemetery with Dr. Jerry Passmore officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the US Air Force.
