Zelma Keefe (loving known as Zee or ZeeZee), 75, of Pensacola, FL passed away on August 4, 2015. Zelma, born in Baxter Springs, KS February 7, 1940, was a long time resident of Pensacola, FL where she graduated from Pensacola High School (1958) as well as retired from PHS after a long career as a devoted, respected and loved teacher to both her students and co-workers. Zee was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle Brooks; father, Orval Elderidge and her niece, Cathy Sayre. She leaves behind daughter, Kristan Keefe Struck (Mark); grandchildren, Ryan, Tanner and Sadie; son, Sean Keefe (Stephanie Hull); sisters, Norma McRoberts, Loretta Robertson and Carolyn Mackey; brothers, Lincoln and Tommy Elderidge. Zee was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, sister and friend who rarely met a stranger. She spent her retirement enjoying her family, doting on her grandchildren, weekly breakfast dates at the Coffee Cup, reunion planning get together's with high school classmates as well as staying connected to her commitment to Education by participating in Kappa Delta Pi, an International Education Honor Society, the Escambia Retired Educators Association as well as volunteering for Reading is Fundamental as part of the EREA. Visitation will be held 4:30pm until a Memorial Service to begin at 5:30pm Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd., Pensacola, FL. Zee dedicated her life to teaching reading to hundreds of students, therefore in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Reading is Fundamental Pensacola.
